The Personalized Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2011 is a
two-day business and educational conference and is a follow-on to the sold-out PMWC
2010, held last January and the PMWC
Israel this past June.
The PMWC promotes the accelerated adoption
of Personalized Medicine on a global-scale, acting as the
nexus between research, academia, investment, industry and
the entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley. The Conference includes sessions covering the latest advances in
clinical practice, regulation and the economics of Personalized Medicine.
During the last year, several new and existing start-ups in the field have raised significant venture funds. Novel molecular diagnostics and targeted drugs are moving through the regulatory approval pipeline and promising new treatment options are becoming available. Personalized Medicine is revolutionizing health-care and transforming the traditional patient-physician relationship as patients are becoming empowered to actively participate in making clinical decisions.
